Curriculum
At EKC Sheppey Secondary, we want all students to value their education and recognise the vital role that it will play in ensuring a successful and happy future. We know the importance of your children having a range of skills to guide them into their bright futures. Therefore, our team of expert staff have created a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum which is enhanced by a range of enrichment and extra-curricular experiences which take our students beyond the classroom, broadening their horizons.
At Key Stage Three we follow the National Curriculum and we take every opportunity to make our lessons relevant to our young people, our Island and our global community. What makes our curriculum unique is inclusion of subjects like life skills, social action and outdoor activities. These subjects focus on ensuring every child has the skills to become a confident, 21st Century learner.
In recognition of the long-term effects that transition from primary to secondary can have on our young people, in Year 7, students are taught by the same teacher, who the experts for the most important subject of all: our students.
We study a full range of subjects in Key Stage 3 before students specialise in their chosen ‘Option’ subject areas in Key Stage 4.
