EKC Sheppey SecondaryWhere belonging meets brilliance
EKC Sheppey Secondary opened its doors in September 2024, ready to nurture every student’s unique spark. Our experienced team, rooted in the community and deeply invested in its success, is here to enable your child to achieve their ambitions. Whether academic or professional specialism, further study or a chosen career, our curriculum is rich, rigorous and relevant and there’s a pathway for everyone.
We’re here to champion mastery (not just milestones); we’ll fuel aspiration and achievement and cheer students on every step of the way. We’re not just opening a school, but forging a learning community where every student thrives… where belonging meets brilliance.

See our FacebookWe took a deep dive into the classics, performing powerful extracts from Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. With a packed house for all four sessions, the energy was off the charts!
We were honoured to host the Royal Opera House, who were blown away by:
- The Vocal Power: The sheer quality and heart of our students' singing.
- The Execution: Our seamless, "impressive" organisation that made the magic happen.
Beyond the performance, our students got the chance of a lifetime in a live workshop with the experts. They didn't just sing; they mastered the art of diction and sharpened their dramatic flair, proving that music is about more than just notes - it’s about storytelling.
A massive well done to every single performer who shared their voice with us. You didn't just sing; you soared! 12 Likes
From high-energy cheerleading and mind-bending magic to soul-stirring singing and elegant ballet, it was a true masterclass in creativity and passion.
A massive shoutout to our incredible cheer squad and vocalists - you hit every beat and every note with pure brilliance! 🌟
A huge THANK YOU to the parents, carers, and teachers who cheered the loudest and supported our stars all day. You are the wind beneath their wings!❤️

The staff team confirmed so far are:
Ms Lorman, Mr Slater-Powell, Miss Everitt, Mr Matthems, Mr Bradd, Mr Rigby, Mrs Debruin, Mr Bagnall, Mrs Tolley, Miss White, Miss Parrot, Miss McMillan, Miss Warren and Mr May!
We're running for our community and would appreciate your donations, or support on the day. You'll see us in our EKC colours, so please keep an eye out and give us a smile, wave or shout as we go past!

The sun came out for us as we swept the gutters of James Street clear. Most of the students in attendance were completing volunteering hours for their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award which encourages community participation as part of the process.
The two hours passed by in no time and students were left with the feeling of accomplishment for supporting two streets so close to their school and that they walk down every day. We hope that our local community noticed and felt the benefit of our students’ effort and look forward to getting involved in Sheppey Matters’ next litter pick! 26 Likes
On Friday the 20th of March, staff and students at EKC Sheppey Secondary dressed in all shades of red for Comic Relief.
From the tip of our red shoes to the top of our red bows, the school community was red all over and raised over £100! Students donned Minnie Mouse onesies, football kits, face paint and glitter for the day.
Thank you to all of those who took part in the day and donated to this important cause! 21 Likes
Before leaving the coast, we made a quick detour to Playa de Salatar for a breezy, scenic lunch by the sea before beginning the long trek north. We have just arrived at the Port of Dover and are on track to be back at school by 8:00 AM.
The feedback we’ve received has been nothing short of overwhelming. To quote our coach drivers: "Exceptional! The best school group we have ever worked with." Our monitors echoed this sentiment, awarding the group a perfect 10/10 for behaviour, engagement, and character.
We look forward to celebrating these achievements at our upcoming Awards Assembly, featuring professional photos from our photographer extraordinaire, Miss Havill. Finally, a huge thank you to our staff for their relentless energy and dedication to our students throughout this journey.

We kicked off our last day by brushing up on our Spanish, sharing our favourite memories from the trip in the local lingo. Then, we headed to the kitchen to cook up a storm, mastering the art of the Catalan flatbread.
The afternoon was a total blur of adrenaline with team-building games and a high-stakes match of Capture the Flag, all fueled by a batch of our very own homemade lemonade. We topped off the day with a massive Paella feast before hitting our own private discoteca. Even the teachers were caught throwing some serious shapes on the dance floor! 💃🕺 41 Likes
